At the pinnacle of Mastercraft’s residential portfolio is Portavo House. The private client’s remit to Fermanagh architects Maxwell Pierce, was to create an Estate home that would sit comfortably in the North Down country estate. The client was looking for a residence that would look like it had been there for 150 years. The result is a 12,000sq ft stately house that nestles into the surrounding countryside.
While the contract was meticulously planned and managed by Gilbert-Ash, the construction works were carried out by Mastercraft Construction. Traditional features included natural slate roofing, with lead detailed ridges and cappings, plus timber sliding sash windows, incorporating box shutters. The magnificent grand entrance hall staircase and the mahogany panelled French polished library were also details which required the hand of skilled craftsmen.
