The rebuild of this museum more than doubles the size of the original. It adds a state of the art exhibition space, a classroom, reflective and temporary exhibition space and an archive and research facility.
Mastercraft Construction completed the concrete formwork, including the exposed beams, soffits and walls throughout.
Mastercraft took great care in ensuring all the concrete walls and ceilings were lined up and finished, as the architects design envisioned. The detailed fair faced concrete was intended to invoke memories of the brutalist architecture found locally during the Troubles, the era the museum tries to encapsulate.
